Volunteer Opportunities

By joining our mailing list, you will be notified of all temporary, or short-term volunteer opportunities, ‘Top 10 Events,’ VPS fundraising events and other ongoing activities sponsored by local non-profit and community organizations.  The VPS  ‘e-blasts’ will keep you connected and we encourage you to share these e-blasts with friends and family!

Most volunteer activities require only a few hours of your time.  In most cases our VPS volunteers will be coordinated by the sponsoring organization as pass through volunteersFor any VPS-sponsored events our volunteer coordinator will be responsible for coordinating your efforts. 

If you would like to become involved in helping to coordinate VPS activities or helping with administrative and internet tasks please let us know.  We encourage your participation in VPS and welcome you to share your talents.

Desert Regional Medical Center
Volunteering at the Desert Regional Medical Center would be ideal for those interested in the medical field. The Center has many volunteer opportunities in the following areas: Admitting, ICU, Nursing Floors, Front Lobby, Hanson House, Gift Shop, etc. For more information on volunteering, call (760) 323-6394. Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women
Volunteers are needed as Answering Service Operators (take information from callers and direct them to the right person) or a Helpline Advocate (take and counsel people who call the helpline). To be an Answering Service Operator, you have to take 30 hours of training online and commit to at least one 12 hour shift per week. Helpline Advocates have to make a one year commitment. Palm Springs Youth League
Do you enjoy being active? Do you like working around children? Volunteers will oversee youth in baseball and softballs areas as well as help out in other ways. Palm Springs International Film Society
Palm Springs International Film Society needs volunteers to help out at theatres, the festival office and at several different special events held during the year. Volunteers can help with crowd control inside and outside an event, work in the office, take tickets and much more. You do have to wear a uniform but there are benefits to volunteering. Palm Springs Air Museum
The volunteer program at the Palm Springs Air Museum consists of Docents, Visitor Services, Gift Shop Clerks, Restoration Workers, Plane Handlers and Library assistants. The Palm Springs Air Museum is also classified as a World War II History Museum. History buffs or those that have intimate knowledge of WW II would surely enjoy themselves as they volunteered for the Museum.
